Abstract

The paper discusses transcendental trends in psychedelic rock music in the USA and Great Britain of the 1960s and 1970s. The reasons for the interest in altered states of consciousness among young people in the designated era are investigated. The main features of psychedelic rock are emphasized: its harmonic, rhythmic and timbral features, as well as recording techniques and the theme of songs.
