Abstract

Impedance measurements have been performed in chronoamperometric conditions and an impedance time diagram has been obtained. The charge transfer resistance and electrode capacitance describing initiation and growth of corrosion pits as a function of time have been determined. The usefulness of dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in pitting corrosion investigations has been confirmed.
