Abstract

The threshold expansion pressure ratio for condensation on ions resp. spontaneous condensation E p1 and E p2 are determined, applying an expansion to a fixed pressure, E p being the ratio of the pressure before and after the expansion. The result is E p1 = 0.741 ± 0.001, E p2 = 0.716 ± ± 0.002. It is shown, that the figures until now obtained with the expansion to a fixed volume are too high, in consequence of deviations from Poisson's adiabatic relations.
