Abstract

Although the thermal effects of pulsed shortwave diathermy (PSWD) have been previously reported, the modality is often regarded as a non-thermal treatment. This article explores the relationship between PSWD treatment parameters and the perception of heat in non-injured subjects. It is the initial report of an experimental programme to determine the relationship between PSWD treatment parameters and their physiological effects.
