Abstract
The regressive tendencies of contemporary art are analyzed as manifestations of the theodicy of the post-culture period. The perspective of the analysis undertaken is that of classical philosophical traditions taken in the context of the geocultural dialogue between the West and the East. The effort is heavily based on the transdisciplinary method of testing humanitarian postulates with natural-science theories, where the ontology of time and the theory of voidness of the selfless world of things and consciousness are granted the paramount importance. They provide a broad argument for criticism of the technoid thinking represented by the proponents and advocates of contemporary art forms, proving the timeless relevance of the principles of art.
