Abstract

The emergence of movements for development of one-world culture and world peace offers a new challenge to criminologists in action and academic settings. This paper reports on a study of the number and types of comparative and world criminology courses currently being offered in graduate schools of Sociology and Criminal Justice in the country. The data are analyzed, in particular, in terms of the comparative vs. world perspective of the approaches used in the courses, indicating the implications of each as related to developments on the present and future world scene.
