Abstract

In submitting the following article, the author wrote to MR's editors: conclusions of this article will provoke many into furious comment. But to them we can only say, in the wise words of President Nyerere, convince but do not force; argue but do not shout. And to those who might concur with the views expressed here, we say that the task is to change society, not to interpret it.
