Abstract
This paper looks at some of the issues of network-enabled capability (NEC). As the primary vision of UK MOD, NEC, and its US counterpart, network centric warfare (NCW), promise to bring information age concepts to all dimensions of military operations. In the present, first stage of NEC development, concentration is on providing increased connectivity, and establishing the network infrastructure on which NEC depends. This paper examines some of the system level and human issues which must be addressed in using the increased connectivity and information availability of NEC.
