Abstract
Effects of fluoride fluxes, especially CaSiF 6·2H 2O upon phase equilibria in the system CaOAl 2O 3Fe 2O 3 are described, presenting liquidus data, new phase field boundaries and invariant points and solid solution areas. The primary phase field for C 12−xA 7·CaF 2 is increased substantially in size, and liquidus or invariant temperatures are depressed by amounts ranging from 20 to 80°C.
