Abstract
This paper presents the influence of switching frequency on the dual active bridge (DAB) dc-dc converter on the power transmission characteristics and the soft switching realization. Based on this, a switching frequency optimization of dual phase shift control is proposed to realize ZVS over the whole load range. It is an optimization of the PWM plus phase-shift control, which can reduce switching loss of power devices, and then improve whole efficiency of the DAB converter. A prototype is built and tested in the lab to verify the feasibility of the proposed solution. The experimental results show that the overall efficiency is improved and the range of soft switching is extended.
