Abstract

We set up the q-rotator model with SU q (2) quantum group symmetry for a description of infrared emission and absorption, rotational Raman spectra and rotational structure of electronic transitions and vibrations of diatomic molecules. When the parameters of the model are well selected, the spectra of the SU q (2) quantum group model coincide with the observed spectra of diatomic molecules to satisfactory accuracies.
