Abstract

Unequal presence of two models of the study programme of (General) Musical Pedagogy at the bachelor studies in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska calls for an analysis of functionality in terms of their structures and the prevalence of musical theory in the curriculum. In the context of the educational model and the specific standards of the given programme, a research has been done with the goal of getting acquainted with the attitudes and opinions of students about the competencies which are developed by one of the two study programmes and the employment options. The research has included 44 students of the final year of the (General) Musical Pedagogy of the Faculty of Philology and Arts in Kragujevac, the Art Faculty in Niš and the Musical Academy in the East Sarajevo. The results have shown that most students are insufficiently aware of the competencies they will acquire and their employment options, while their affinities are diverse. The results indicate that it is necessary to thoroughly inform students about the concepts of their study programmes and the subsequent options at the job market.
