Abstract

The transition radiation of a charged particle during its uniform motion perpendicular to the axis of the waveguide with a periodically modulated anisotropic magnetodielectric filling is considered. Features of the interaction of the radiated transverse-magnetic (TM) wave with the modulation wave of the filling of the waveguide in the region of “strong” (resonance) interaction are investigated. The analytical expression for energy of transition radiation in the region of strong interaction with accuracy of small modulation index in the first degree inclusive was found. The obtained expression for the width of the frequency region of the strong interaction shows that it is proportional to the modulation index in the first degree. The possibility of appearance of Cherenkov radiation in the region of strong interaction in the case of rectangular waveguide is analyzed.
