Abstract

Interaction of transition radiation of a charged particle with periodically modulated anisotropic magnetodielectric filling of the regular waveguide is considered. It is assumed, that the charged particle moves perpendicular to the waveguide axis with constant velocity. The analytical expressions for the transverse-magnetic (TM) field in the first approximation relative to the modulation indexes of filling are found. The energy of transition radiation in the region of “weak” (not resonant) interaction between the radiation wave and the modulated filling is calculated in the case of rectangular waveguide. Modulated filling of the waveguide leads to the fact that the TM field in the waveguide represents a set of space harmonics with different amplitudes. In the expression for the energy of transition radiation of the charged particle unlike the case of the unmodulated filling is added the member proportional to the modulation index of the first degree.
