Abstract
In any group of people, 60 per cent have a foot anomaly; many only trivial, but some more troublesome. An endeavour is made to explain the detrimental effects upon feet of certain conditions associated with industrial activities. The manner in which foot disorders can be initiated or aggravated: by long sessions of standing heat and humidity special footwear is discussed. Mention is made of the added problems created in feet which exhibit structural deformities, and a recommendation is made regarding selection at pre-employment medical examinations. The value to the employees and to the industry of an industrial chiropody service is summarized.
