Abstract

A status report of the Electron Cyclotron Resonance (ECR) ion source injector project at the Manne Siegbahn Laboratory in Stockholm is given. The ECR ion source is presently in its commissioning state. The aim of the project is to deliver high currents of a wide variety of ion beams, with energies up to 300 q KeV, for injection into the accelerator and storage ring CRYRING as well as for atomic and surface physics experiments. The ECR source, of the HYPERNANOGAN type, is delivered by Pantechnik s.a. in, France. The source is a 14.5 GHz single stage plasma device capable of producing highly charged ions of intermediate masses and intermediately charged ions of the high masses; also singly charged and molecular ions are expected.
