Abstract

The sorption of Zn(NH 3) 4 ++ and Zn(en) 3 ++ complexes on silica gels of different structure was studied. With regard to the stoichiometry the ion exchange sorption of both complexes is independent of the pH value and of the value of the specific surface and the mode of preparation of the sorbent used. A simple method for specific surface determination of silica gel is developed on the basis of the sorption of Zn(en) 3 ++.
