Abstract

Abstract The static and dynamic adsorption properties of zeolite and carbon molecular sieve (CMS) adsorbents of commercial origin were compared. The frequency-response (FR) sorption rate spectra were determined in the range of −20 and 70 °C at 133 Pa and the adsorption isotherms were recorded at −20 °C. In particles, larger than 0.2 mm size, macropore diffusion governed the rate of sorption mass transport in both types of microporous materials. The adsorbents were qualified for PSA separation of gas mixtures by the differences of the kinetic sorption parameters of the component gases.
