Abstract
The extraction of chromium (VI) with triphenyltetrazolium, tetraphenylarsonium and n-propyl-triphenylphosphonium cations into chloroform was studied by means of 51Cr tracer. It was found that under conditions used, Cr(VI) is extracted as an ion-pair (B +, HCrO 4 −). The second dissociation constant of chromic acid was determined from the extraction data with good agreement with values previously reported.
