Abstract
AbstractSince 1990 the romanian territories of the Danube Delta received important international recognition of its unique value: Biosphere Reserve, World Heritage site, Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Wetland Convention, European Diploma for Protected Areas. Since then, the governance of the Danube Delta has an important role in biodiversity conservation with effects on the wellbeing of the local communities. Given the economic, social and local context, the european policies have shaped the management of the landscape and the natural resources.
