Abstract
The purpose of the resarch is to exploring opportunities for students to receive social assistance from the state and local government in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. Both theoretical and empirical research methods were used in this study. State social assistance to students would be expected by providing material support for the purchase of computer equipment. Municipal social assistance is expected both in the form of a crisis benefit and indirectly by supporting the student's family if it enters the status of a poor or low-income family.

Summary
Pirmkārt, lielais studentu skaits, uz kuriem attiecas gan Covid-19 pandēmijas rezultātā izraisītā ārkārtējā situācija, otrkārt, pandēmijas rezultātā izsludinātie ierobežojumi, rezultātā radušies jauni apstākļi, kuros studentiem rodas iepriekš nesastaptas sociāla rakstura problēmas. Pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt studentu iespējas Covid-19 pandēmijas apstākļos saņemt sociālo palīdzību no valsts un pašvaldības, pamatojoties uz Latvijas Republikas Satversmē atrodamajiem principiem, likumu Par sociālo drošību, likumu Par pašvaldībām un citiem avotiem. Ar sistēmiskās metodes palīdzību analizēta student kā sociālās grupas tiesības uz sociālo palīdzību no valsts. Izmantojot praksē pastāvošo situāciju pašvaldībās, pētīti pašvaldību tiesības un pienākumi sniegt sociālo palīdzību studentiem. Secinājumi un priekšlikumi izdarīti ar analītiskās metodes palīdzību
