Abstract
The Manastambha, a symbol of Jain philosophy, is a free-standing pillar crowned with a Jina, often found near Jain temples or statues. Its structural integrity is ensured by a masonry platform. The pedestal is carved into three steps, each representing a significant aspect of the path to spiritual liberation. These steps symbolize the core principles of the faith: right understanding and faith, right knowledge, and the importance of right conduct. The Manastambha, whether shaped in square or octagonal forms, is a timeless emblem of Jain philosophy.
