Abstract

Antibiotics are essential in the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections, however, their misuse and overuse may lead to the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. In post-operative patients, selecting the appropriate antibiotics is crucial and should be based on factors such as the site of infection, causative organism, and pharmacokinetics of the antibiotics.
