Abstract
Where building research can become involved in the increasingly important area of house modernisation, it may well have to deal with relatively mundane issues. A recent publication by the Danish Building Research Institute exemplifies this situation. Summarised here by its authors, Svend Kjeldstrup and Kaj Ovesen, SBI Direction 116 gives advice on installing or adapting shower cabinets which is aimed at the general public rather than the specialist.
