Abstract
The article examines selection restriction rules which govern the choice of lexical items in syntactic constructions and are based on the grammatical and semantic criteria. The violations of selectional restrictions are context-sensitive since context features may repair the violations, hence the phenomenon of selection restrictions is described as part of the semantics-pragmatics interface. Summary
Дослідження лексичної сполучуваності слів є однією з важливих проблем сучасного мовознавства, посилення зацікавленості якою пов’язане з появою нових мовознавчих теорій, зокрема корпусної лексичної граматики (lexical grammar), граматики мовних шаблонів (pattern grammar), емергентної граматики (emergent grammar). Семантична аномальність виникає як результат порушення семантичних обмежень (meaning constraints), які регулюють лексичну сполучуваність слів. Селекційні обмеження (selection(al) restrictions) безпосередньо пов’язані зі значенням слова: певна семантична ознака мусить бути присутня у значенні слова для сполучення цього слова з іншим словом.
