Abstract

We give general formulae for the second-order weak correction to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon in an arbitrary gauge model. Older known results are rederived as special cases. We illustrate the bounds imposed by the experimental value of ( g - 2) in two left-right models and obtain a lower bound of 35 GeV for the lightest neutral boson in a recently proposed SU(2) L × SU(2) R × U(1) L × U(1) R model of weak and electromagnetic interactions.
