Abstract

ABSTRACT: Abū Muḥammad Jābir ibn Yazīd al-Juʿfī al-Kufī (c. 50–128 ah) is considered as one of the well-known and trustworthy followers and companions of Imam Al-Bāqir and Imam Al-Ṣādiq. During the late Umayyad era, he was considered as a great authority on religious sciences of his time, his main scientific activities being focused on exegesis of the Qur’an, Hadith , history, jurisprudence, and Kalām . Having accepted numerous outstanding students from both Shi‘a and Sunni sections of the Muslim community, he profoundly contributed to the dissipation of these sciences among all Muslims, especially Shi‘a Muslims.
