Abstract

Clopidogrel resistance is associated with increased periprocedural neurologic events after carotid stenting. Ticagrelor offers an improved resistance profile, but the bleeding risk of this medication has not been assessed with transfemoral carotid artery stenting (tfCAS) or transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR). Therefore, we examined the safety and efficacy of preoperative DAPT with aspirin (ASA)/ticagrelor vs ASA/clopidogrel in patients undergoing tfCAS or TCAR.
