Radially-excited baryon states are considered in the framework of the MIT Bag. The model predicts the Roper resonance to consist of two nearly degenerate P11 states, only one of which is coupled strongly to photons. Confirmation of such a splitting is of major importance for the validity of the cavity approximation for excited states.
