Abstract

This article discusses the multifaceted role of universities in preparing the next generation of security professionals. The diverse activities carried out in this vein include: academic coursework and training; student internships and co-ops; guest lectures and job fairs; student professional organizations, exposure to security products, services, and publications; and career guidance and mentoring. Still, the article argues that challenges remain to students studying security and pursuing careers in that field.
