Abstract

Soft power is currently becoming one of the most vital elements of practice and theory in the world of politics. The article explores theoretical and applied aspects of the role of Spanish Language and Hispanicity as a part of the world political processes. It encompasses both negative and positive features of the spread of Spanish language as a political factor and the development of foreign policies of Spain through the prism of the soft power strategies. The soft power of Spain is inseparably connected with creation of the relevant political, cultural, economic and social infrastructure. The article highlights notably the role of Hispanicity (Hispanidad) which as an important linguo-political factor is one of the most significant components of the soft power strategy of Spain.
