Abstract

The Autism Spectrum Developmental Disorder can be configured as repetitive and whose characteristics are varied from verbal and non-verbal severity, social interaction and the presence of stereotyped and similar behaviors. Nursing professionals can observe children's behavior, through consultations to analyze growth and development, can also help parents by providing support and informing them about the challenges they will face, as well as elucidating the help procedures they will use to care for a child autistic. Considering the importance and relevance of the theme, the objective of this study was to describe how nursing care for children with autism spectrum disorder occurs. The research was carried out through a narrative literature review, the searches were carried out between the months of February and March 2022, with searches in the SCIELO, BVS and LILACS databases, through the descriptors Autism Disorder, Child Autism and Nursing, being found 87 articles, which 23 were used in this research. The results obtained show that the nurse has a crucial role from diagnosis to early intervention of the autistic child.
