Abstract

This article is an experiential exploration of basic temperament that couples can take. The four typologies of Artisans, Guardians, Idealists, and Rationals, as defined by Keirsey, are described. After completing a checklist of representative descriptive adjectives, couples compare scores and reflect on specific situations that typify their own preferred style. Implications/applications for the relationship, such as mutual respect and appreciation of different styles, conclude the article.
