Abstract

The value of the industrial enterprise innovative potential and the scale of its innovation development determine both the current measure of its readiness and the future degree of the enterprise’s new technologies development efficiency, which is critical nowadays. This chapter substantiates the need to include an assessment of the level of scientific and industrial cooperation in the analysis of the industrial enterprise innovative potential. In known methodological base problems with objective evaluation of this important aspect of the industrial enterprises innovative potential are noted, the author proposes an approach to the evaluation of scientific and industrial cooperation through joint patent and licensing activities. To solve this problem, the use of such indicators is justified: the coefficient of assessing the involvement of universities and research organizations in the patent and licensing activities of the industry, the indicator of assessing long-term interaction, and the number of registered Intellectual Property (IP) created within the framework of research contracts between an industrial enterprise and university or research institute. It is also proposed to analyze the number of applications for registration of IP, received patents, and publications of university or research institute, in important publications, in the subject area of industrial enterprise on the classification of IPC. The calculation and analysis of the indicators described by the author will determine the availability, nature and level of scientific and industrial cooperation, which will thus make it possible to significantly supplement the assessment of its innovative potential. The proposed method of analysis of the patent and license component of the enterprise innovative potential was implemented on the example of the Russian nuclear power enterprise, which occupies the leading places in the world innovative ratings. Thus, the presented data allow us to say that the study lays the foundation for potential work on such relevant problems for industrial enterprises as the quantitative assessment of the research, patents to innovation and growth contribution; identification of potential participants types interaction of to build innovative capacity; comparison of enterprises strategies in the field of innovation and the results of their activities.
