Abstract

It is shown that the broadening of a cyclotron resonance line in a two-dimensional (2D) electron system relative to the inverse scattering time of electrons is connected with the radiative damping accompanying the cyclotron motion of electrons. Using the radiative damping concept, a simple and physically informative formula describing the cyclotron resonance curve shape in a 2D electron system was obtained.
