Abstract

Seventy-four practicing surgeons were surveyed regarding pediatric surgery in their surgical education and practice. Most care for the common surgical diseases of childhood; ten (13.5%) had done major noncardiac neonatal procedure in the preceding year. Sixty-one (82%) considered pediatric surgery to be a valuable component of general surgical education.
