Abstract

This research was conducted to identify the role of literacy in reducing Media Exposure among female students, especially in the 6th grade at SD N 16 Nagari Supayang. Considering that 6thgrade female students are transitioning into the Teenage Girls level, they are often a vulnerable group impacted by the media and need protection from cybercrimes. The research method employed by the researcher is qualitative descriptive research, aimed at describing the role of literacy for female students. The results obtained from this research indicate that literacy plays a role in educating students to choose information and create positive written content. Literacy is also effective in reducing media exposure, including psychological impacts due to bullying on social media and the tendency to imitate vulgar movements found on social media, which can lead to criminal activities in the virtual world.
