Abstract

Sustainable tourism development is an issue of great concern to society. This study is conducted to determine the importance of key factors for sustainable tourism development. The data is collected from a survey of 157 organizations and individuals providing tourism services in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province. The results of the scale evaluation and hypothesis testing by the structural equation modeling (SEM) have confirmed four basic components of tourism infrastructure: 1) basic infrastructure; 2) accommodation and food establishments; 3) facilities for sightseeing, recreation, entertainment and shopping; 4) support services. Tourism infrastructure, the participation of local communities and environmental protection in tourism activities are key factors that positively affect sustainable tourism development. Furthermore, the industrial revolution 4.0 is considered to have a positive influence on the impact of tourism infrastructure on sustainable tourism development. In which, tourism marketing, tourism service business and tourism human resource training are aspects that this study examines the influence of the industrial revolution 4.0 on tourism activities. From these results, policy implications are suggested for sustainable tourism development for Vinh Cuu district and localities with similar conditions.
