Abstract
Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in India are crucial in supporting small and marginal farmers by providing financial aid, technical guidance, and market access. This ultimately helps to increase their incomes and empower women. FPOs improve farmers' livelihoods through direct marketing, collective negotiation, and resource optimization. However, they face challenges such as infrastructure gaps, inadequate training, funding shortages, and difficulties in adopting modern agricultural practices. Government support is essential to address these challenges and help FPOs explore new markets, including e-commerce and exports. While FPOs are a promising approach to sustainable agricultural development, they face threats from private companies and price volatility. Addressing these challenges and enacting supportive policies are essential for ensuring the growth and sustainability of India's agricultural sector.
