Abstract
The subject of the work was to clarify the position of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine in 2012 Dmitry Salamatin in reducing the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It emphasizes its connection with the Russian elites, the extent of the theft of property of the Ukrainian army and the personal enrichment of the official. The conclusion about D. Salamatin’s replacement as Minister of Defense of Ukraine due to competition with his eldest son Viktor Yanukovych is justified.
