Abstract
With the acceleration of globalization, English has become a crucial tool for international communication and career development, and is now one of the key competencies for university students to gain more career opportunities. This paper explores the impact of college English courses on students' future career development, analyzes the current situation of college English learning, and proposes ways to help students better utilize English as a tool to promote their career development by improving language skills, broadening international perspectives, and integrating career-oriented capabilities. By analyzing the deficiencies in the current English curriculum, the paper further explores the direction of college English teaching reform, suggesting the strengthening of English application skills and the design of multidimensional career-oriented courses to better meet the talent demands of the globalized and information-driven era. Finally, the paper looks ahead to the future development trends of college English teaching and emphasizes the core role of English proficiency in diversified career development.
