Abstract

The article analyzes the role of local public administration in managing migration at the level of a territorial community. It has to be mentioned that the author will refer to the way in which the local public administration intervenes in policy processes with an impact on reducing the negative effects of migration. In this context, the author considered relevant the analysis of the legal framework and public policies aimed at managing the phenomenon of migration at the local level. It was examined to what extent programs and policies developed at the national level are implemented at the local level and to what extent they represent support for strengthening the capacity of local authorities to manage the migration phenomenon, expressed in skills and areas of activity.
