Abstract

(Aust N Z J Obstet Gynaecol. 2020;60:890–895) Placenta previa affects 1 in 200 deliveries at term, and 90% resolve by the third trimester. One of the major adverse maternal outcomes associated with placenta previa is antepartum hemorrhage (APH), which can lead to blood transfusions, hysterectomy or admission to the intensive care unit (ICU), among other adverse events. Little has been published about the management of outcomes associated with placenta previa. The aim of this study was to examine the associations between APH, postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and adverse outcomes in women with placenta previa.
