Abstract

From the rubble of the Second World War, the United Nations was born with the hope that future generations would not know the ravages of war, being an organization destined to ensure international peace and security. Principles stipulated in the founding charter. In the spirit of San Francisco of 1945, and with the institutions emanating from the Bretton Woods Agreements (read World Bank and International Monetary Fund), the ideal of peace was popularized through a free trade policy and the extension of the democratic system.
