Abstract
An experimental device was constructed for the present research. The strain of Al-4.5Cu alloy during loading and unloading was measured in the solidification temperature range. Based on these experiments and analyses, a five-component elastic-visco-plastic rheological model of the alloy is proposed, the creep equation is obtained, and the rheological property parameter is defined. Based on this investigation, the shrinkage stress of a casting can be measured, which enables the determination of critical values of strain for the formation of hot tearing.
