Abstract
Measures that include diversion of bile from the duodenum or injury to the liver have been found to produce chronic peptic ulcers in dogs. The possibleroles of bile in the prevention of ulcers are discussed. That loss of bile from the duodenum may result in lowered tissue resistance because of a disturbed fat metabolism is considered.
