Abstract

Dairy- and suckler-bred cattle of several breed types and sex either overwintered in yards prior to grass finishing or finished in yards during the winter of 1982/3 were involved in farm trials to determine the effect of Salinomycin sodium on daily gain. To a large extent breed and sex were confounded with farm group. Overall 520 winter finished and 728 overwintering cattle were involved (Table 1).
