Abstract
ABSTRACT This paper describes how the serial/matrix technique, derived originally for the response analysis of time-invariant linear systems prescribed in transfer function form, can be extended to give the responses of multivariable systems defined in state apace terms. The method gives the explicit formulation of the time-response of the state vector for a, large class of forcing functions, or, as a particular case, the transition matrix of the system. No theoretical restrictions are placed upon the eigenvalues of the system matrix.
