Abstract

An interactive system called SYSLAB for analysis and design of linear multivariable control systems in the state space is described. It is developed on the basis of MATLAB - a powerful interactive language for matrix computations which implements high quality software for solving matrix problems. SYSLAB makes possible to solve easily the basic problems of the analysis and design of linear multivariable control systems: stability analysis, investigation of the controllability/observability and reduction into canonical forms, pole assignment and synthesis of optimal linear systems. Only algorithms that are proved as numerically stable are implemented. SYSLAB is written in Fortran and is fully portable.
