Abstract

Abstract The Sixth Plenary Session of the Twelfth Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party has, in accordance with the strategic resolution made by the Twelfth National Congress of the Party in regard to constructing a socialist spiritual civilization at the same time that a material civilization is being constructed, in accordance with the spirit of the 1985 National Delegates' Conference of the Party, and in response to the demands of overall and comprehensive reform and development of our country at large, reviewed and discussed accomplishments our nation has made in the area of the construction of spiritual civilization over the last few years and the problems we face today. The Plenum believes that adapting to the new situation in the country, further clarifying the guiding principles of the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, and strengthening the work in this area are of major practical significance to ensure the smooth development of socialist modernization construction.
